So, I have been a part of this real estate website.  It is a free service to all of the real estate professionals, Active Rain.  What a wonderful tool it has been to meet new people and learn from them.  One of these individuals is a remarkable woman by the name of Karen George.  Karen is a gifted writer/blogger, and she is compassionate.  For several weeks, minimally, I read her blogs and learned attitudes and values from her.  Then one day, all of a sudden, I learned that she had been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer.  Breast cancer!  She is so young.  I have so many people that I know that are sick with this horrible disease or have been sick.  So many that I am sick of it strangling the life out of strong, admirable, gifted individuals.  When everyone was offering prayers and "well wishes" for Miss Karen, I had a deep down desire to help in a hands on approach.  So I posted a comment on the blog of another woman who was trying to keep sweet notes and prayers going for Karen as she battles this demon again.  And I do mean demon.   It did not take too long before I received a phone call from Calie Waterhouse.  She was going to take my idea nad run withit, if I was good with that,  and why would I not be?  I was fully honored! 

So, I guess, my request for you is to go and visit Calie's blog.  Also visit Karen's personal one.   It is her personal journal of her journey through the pain.  It offers beautiful, touching realities from the eyes and heart of her husband, family, and friends.  Keep her in your prayers.  Also, send her a card, a gift as suggested by Calie's blog, an email, whatever it takes for her to know that she is being held in the hands of a big, big, loving, awesome God!  She is being taken care of!  Feel free to post your thoughts here, too!  I will be sending them over to her with our love!  Thanks...

       THE NEW OC      Perhaps you have heard about the new things happening in Oregon City.  As our city conitnues to grow and sprawl, so do the exciting business opportunities.  Some see the addition of another Starbucks in the OC Point as "pointless".  Others are thrilled.  Do you have any great ideas for a business that we need here in the OC?  YEs, restaurants but which kind would you like to see here?  Give me your thoughts, and let's see if we can get some of those in place for us!  Enjoy the break from this heat...
